FIFA 13 News

FIFA 12: A New Fan Favorite

At the end of last month the long wait ended for FIFA 12, one of the hottest soccer games to ever hit the market. FIFA 12, developed by EA Canada, was released on September 27 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii and more platforms. Thanks to the new Impact Engine which programs the game’s enhanced physics, FIFA 12 includes more realism and requires more skill than ever before.

How has FIFA 12 been faring with the fans and critics? While many gamers enjoyed FIFA 12 in demo phase, even those who had a chance to demo the product and weren’t too blown away with the game a month ago are now raving about FIFA 12. The reason for their change of heart? The changes and enhancements to FIFA 12 over previous versions have been for the most part very subtle. During demo, it was hard for a lot of gamers to really appreciate the changes or notice them since they are so subtle. But after playing the game for an extended time, it’s possible to notice more of the improvements and really build up an appreciation for just how much EA has done with this release.

Enjoying FIFA 12 but having a hard time putting up with some of the lag which you experience online? Tired of getting disconnected for no reason? On October 18, the first patch for FIFA 12 was released for Xbox 360 and PS3. The patch was created to fix various stability problems but also prohibits online players from controlling the goalie and setting players to CPU control. Many players considered this ability to be unfair and exploitive. Most of the issues which the patch addresses reduce lag time and prevent disconnects. With the application of the new patch, FIFA 12 will be better than ever!

Fifa 12 Trailer

EA Sports has responded to the video leak of Fifa 12 earlier in the week by releasing the first official trailer for their upcoming game.  The new Fifa 12 game looks fantastic based on the initial impressions from the video.  You can watch the 1 minute promo video below.  Let us know what you think by commenting.

Fifa 12 Video Leak

A video of FIFA 12 has leaked onto youtube that shows some significant improvements to the game.
The video highlights the parts of the game that have significantly changed – most at the hands of the new Impact Engine. The improved dynamic physics produce an impression of fluidity and a further step towards believability. But the best bit comes from the unpredictability – and EA appears to be playing on that.
Wild and reckless tackles now send opponents flying. One example shows a Chelsea player literally upended and flipped by an onrushing defender.
Even better are the arrival of true injuries. A Chelsea player ricochets off a sturdy Arsenal back and lands awkwardly, folding over on his knee. It causes a look-away moment of squeamishness. The Chelsea player stays down, nursing his knee.
In FIFA 12, holding down the polite-tackle button now keeps you at a wary distance from your opponent. You jockey until you’re ready to strike. We see a winger cut in-field and run to the opposite flank, tracked dynamically every step of the way by his counterpart.
